Right by the World’s End, on Chelsea’s Kings Road, Le Troquet French Bistro is a real taste of Paris in London. This appealing new addition to the local dining scene is an ideal spot for romantic dinners, a friends’ night out, birthday parties, or a post-shopping indulgence.
Great attention to detail has created a wonderful atmosphere in Le Troquet’s dining room, from old blue and white French street signs to the gnarly old brick walls and enamel advertising signs, not to mention – of course – red and white checked tablecloths.
‘Rustique’ French bistro food with a truly traditional flavour is the trademark of Le Troquet’s kitchen, where time-honoured recipes are used to create authentic dishes from across the Channel. The menu offers a choice of starters and bar food, including foie gras, oysters, French onion soup and salade niçoise, while main courses can include lobster, steak tartare, duck confit, fish of the day and, of course, steak with, as you’d expect, perfect French fries. There’s a mouth-watering cheese board and to-die-for desserts. And the prices are very affordable.
The excellent food menu is matched perfectly by the selection of wines, carefully picked to represent the best of the French vineyards, both well-known labels and small organic producers.
